Question:
Hi friends. I have a 2018 F-150 and think I need to replace the factory 7-Way but trying to determine if I just need a new plug or if I need the harness to go along with it. Do you by chance know the wire color functions for the factory wires on my truck so I can test them? Thanks!

I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2018 Ford F-150 and was able to locate the wiring color code for the factory 7-Way trailer harness on the truck. The wires leading up to the factory plug are as follows:
Yellow - Left turn/stop lamp
Green - Right turn/stop lamp
Brown - Running lights
Blue - Electric Brakes
Orange - 12V battery power
Grey - Reverse lights
White - Ground
If you find that the harness is fine and you just need a replacement 7-Way/4-Way connector the Hopkins # HM40975 will work perfectly. If you need the plug-in harness and connector the Curt T-Connector # C55774 will work great.

I have a 2013 f150 and need to test the harness. Can you supply the color code and the function of each. There are 7 wires, white( larger gauge), green, yellow, blue, brown, tan and grey with black stripe. Thanks for your anticipated help in this matter
