Question:
Hi people. I have a 2019 Honda Odyssey and a trailer with electric brakes what do I need for wiring? What brake controller do you recommend?

Starting with the brake controller itself I highly recommend the Curt Echo # C51180 for your 2019 Honda Odyssey.
This is a really unique controller that allows for an extremely simple installation that involves simply plugging it into a 7-Way connector on the vehicle and pairing to your smartphone via Bluetooth after downloading the free app. It will provide automatic proportional braking that will activate the brakes on the trailer at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your Odyssey. Because you use your phone to adjust its settings or activate the manual override, this system eliminates the need for an additional unit that would need to be mounted inside the vehicle like other controllers.
The additional parts you need to install the controller so that it can power the trailer brakes will depend on what, if anything, the van is already equipped with.
If there is not a wiring connector present at all at the rear of the vehicle you will need to start with a 4-Way harness. For this I recommend the Tekonsha T-One # 118781, This custom harness will install by simply plugging into factory ports behind the driver side trim panel. I have attached an installation video to assist.
Then with the 4-Way installed (or if you already have one) you will need to convert it to a 7-Way using the Wiring Kit # ETBC7L. This kit includes everything you need to do this along with the additional wiring and circuit breakers required to install the Curt Echo.
