Question:

In a previous reply your expert said that this disconnect is ok to use on a 2017 Chevy Colorado Diesel but the instructions clearly state not to use on a diesel engine. Is the chevy diesel system ok because this diesel is small and doesnt pull the same amps as a larger diesel engine?

I spoke to my contact at Roadmaster and they informed me that Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch part # RM-766 cannot be used on vehicles with a diesel engine because these vehicles require a battery with a very high cold cranking amp (CCA) rating which would fry the solenoid on the battery disconnect. Instead, you will want to use something like the Deka Lead Quick-Disconnect Battery Terminal part # DW05312 which allows you to disconnect the battery leads though the use of the hand knob.
