Should Lower Straps of Yakima Hangout 2 Be Put in Anchor Mode When Installing on 2016 Jeep Cherokee

Question:
How do I attach the bottom hooks base of the hatch ? The installation video talks about using the hook in anchor mode, but doesnt show where to attach them. At the same time theres a photo of a Jeep Cherokee where they are used as standard hooks. However, when using them as hooks, theres not much grab. Thank you very much.

I checked with Yakima and they state that when installing the Hangout 2 part # Y02637 on a 2016 Jeep Cherokee the lower hooks must be changed and installed in anchor mode so that is the way you should install the rack. I attached a picture that shows how to put the lower straps into anchor mode. Where they install will be basically the width of the bike rack frame.
