How do I Use Anchor Mode on the Straps for the Yakima FullBack Bike Rack?

Question:

How does the anchor installation mode for the bottom straps for the Yakima Full Back 2 bike rack works? The instructions in the manual are confusing and not clear. A video would be helpful. Thanks!

I have a great demonstration video that shows exactly what to do! Our expert Jon walks you through how to turn the bottom hooks of the FullBack 2 # Y02634 into the "anchor mode" at the attached video at timestamp 3:25. You simply flip the hook around and thread the strap through the unused opening to crate a clamp to fit into the trunk.

Hi Have Honda Civic 2014 4 Door Do I need to have anchor mount for BOTH top and bottom straps? And it looks from the video, the strap inside the trunk does NOT need to be "hooked" onto anything when anchored mounted--correct? Just "throw" the strap and clip in (after anchored) and tighten down the strap from the outside--correct? Thank you

@ChristineD You'll only need to install the top hooks in anchor mode. The bottom hooks will be used as clamps with the standard installation process.
