Get More Out of Every Trip: Tow or Carry What You Need

This Class III trailer hitch receiver is ready for everyday towing and hauling. With a 2" x 2" receiver opening, it’s built to handle up to 5,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 750 lbs of tongue weight. When used with weight distribution, those limits go up to 6,000 lbs GTW and 750 lbs TW. It’s a solid option for towing small trailers, campers, or boats, and for carrying bike racks or cargo carriers when you need extra space for gear.

Built to Last: Matte Black Powder Coat Over Steel

The fully welded steel construction gives this hitch its strength, while the matte black powder coat finish keeps it protected from rust and corrosion. It has a rugged, carbide-like appearance that hides dirt and scuffs better than glossy finishes. The round-tube design looks clean under the bumper and gives your vehicle a finished, tough look.

Side-by-side comparison of matte carbide and glossy black trailer hitch finishes showing textured matte surface versus shiny reflective gloss finish.

Close-up of matte carbide powder coat next to glossy black coating showing rugged non-reflective texture versus smooth shiny surface for trailer hitch comparison.

Simple to Install: Bolt-On Design with Included Hardware

You don’t need welding equipment or special tools for this install. The hitch bolts directly to the frame using the included hardware kit—just line it up and tighten it down. It’s designed for precise fitment so everything aligns without modification. That makes it a straightforward project for most home garages or driveways.

Ready for Different Setups: Works with Ball Mounts and Accessories

Because it uses a standard 2" receiver, you can easily attach ball mounts, bike racks, or cargo platforms without adapters. Ball mount, pin, and clip are sold separately, letting you choose the setup that fits your needs best. Whether it’s towing your trailer or adding gear storage for a road trip, this hitch gives you flexibility every time you use it.

Received as promised. Great price and great service. The box was damaged but the hitch looks ok. Installing it next Monday. I will know if there is any damage to the hitch at that time.

by:

I have not mounted it yet but there's nothing special about it.

Wed love to know what you think once youre able to use it out in the wild! :)

by:

The install videos are excellent. It was a bit challenging installing solo. Hitch works great.

by:

E-trailer hitch was the perfect fit for my GMC and instructional videos really helped!

by:

Built like a tank! Install was straight forward for 2017 Acadia. Didn’t have any issues bolting to the frame. If you watch the video this is exactly how it goes. You can’t go wrong with this hitch.

by:

Everything fit perfectly. Quality and measurements perfectly. Thanks

by:

The Box was destroyed parts were all over! All the parts were there. Was going to wrap but the box was so bad i could not wrap also the hitch was badly scuffed. Im sure everything will be ok product is very heavy which is a strong product. Cant wait to install on my vehicle. Thanks for quick shipping.

by:

Fit was very difficult to install shield needed to be cut out much more than 4 " to get flat fit against rail - front bolts did not line up on one side visible difference between weld on right side required reaming of holes and bracket to get bolt through hitch contacted mounting nuts of exhaust hanger.

I know that this hitch is a more challenging install. It sounds like that it was possible that the side bracket were flexed out of alignment. We do have a FAQ that can help when that happens.

by:

Great product. Good instructions made installation easy.

by:

Very easy to install following the installation videos. After a year of use, I haven't had any issues. Great product.

by:

The hitch has worked as expected. The big difference in products has always been more in the customer service, than the product quality itself. Your hitch is a perfect example. By providing all the necessary information, instructions, and specialty tools, you make this a top-notch product.

by:

Very easy to install as long as you follow the instructions. The wires for pulling the retainers and bolts through on my 2021 GMC Acadia was a game changer!

by:

if the bolts were just a 1/4 inch longer

by:

Great product looks nice also. Came with everything to install.instructions were easy to follow.

by:

Purchased for installation on a 2021 Acadia - VERY simple minimal disassembly with the vehicle sitting on the ground. No lift required, simple hand tools with exception of a real torque wrench (rent one or buy a nice one - this is a key step for assembly safety!) Nothing seldomly goes smoothly - however based on the application, I am very satisfied with the process, the piece is solid, clean welds, snug fit, large platform and perfect for the application I am using it for. Installed alone - took my time but if I was hustling I’m sure 40 min installation would be max time.

by:

Super easy install their video shows you exactly what to do

by:

Fitted to 2019 Acadia. Easy install and fit up.

Hitch has been a great addition to the Acadia. No issues since installation.

Installed yesterday, 2017 Acadia. There were two of us, we both do our own auto maintenance and we have plenty of tools on hand. It took us 1.5 hours. We ran into two problems that added about 45 minutes. 1) when re-attaching one of the muffler hangers we accidently bent the little metal hanger that holds the bracket in place so you can start both hanger bolts. After 20 minutes we figured out the little hanger was bent and once we bent it back we were done in 10 minutes. 2) we used a multi tool to remove the gray seam goop but I missed some on my side. We struggled for 20 minutes to get the receiver in position until I finally saw the goop, we pulled the hanger back down and removed all the goop and everything went smoothly. Great product, very heavy duty. Amazing how easy it was to pull the bolt into position with the little wires. The kit came with 6 bolts and six wire pullers. Leave the wire pullers on the bolts until your nave the hitch receiver in position and your ready to install the nut. Remove each wire puller one at a time as you install nuts. The receiver is very heavy so we used a small hydraulic jack to hold it in place while we got everything figured out. It was not a bad project at all, I'd do it again with no hesitation.

@Dustin Glad we had the right fit for you Dustin, and you were able to get things installed even with the hiccups along the way! Are the grandkids graduated? How many more years of college do they have left?

I purchased the e36AR hitch for my 2017 GMC Acadia. It arrived on time with the box damaged but the hitch was fine. Hitch is very heavy, solidly built. I opted to install it myself using the instruction video on the etrailer website. I have limited experience with cars and basic tools, installed it with my son in my garage with no lift, and only had to purchase a torque wrench for final tightening (found one for $20 at Harbor Freight). Tin snips worked great for trimming the heat shield.

The video covered most of the steps, although we did run into a couple of "special" issues - 1) I needed to remove more caulking than the video showed in order for the hitch to fit flush to the frame, and 2) there was a bolt holding the bumper on that got in the way and needed to be loosened (and then retightened after installation).

All told, it took my son and I around 3 hours to finish, but that included several missteps (lost a bolt and bracket up in the frame and had to fish them out with a magnet, had to loosen all the nuts and pull the whole thing back down to scrape away more caulking, etc.).

A couple other notes: There were several times I feared I bought the wrong model since it just didn't appear to fit correctly and seemed like not enough of the bolts would protrude through to get the nuts on. But we just kept jiggling and slamming it around and sure enough it fit. Tightening the nuts to the specified torque-weight pulled everything up and tight. Also - THIS THING IS HEAVY. It was NOT an easy thing to lay on the garage floor and bench-press it up into place, jiggle around for several minutes to get into place, and hold it still while putting on the nuts. Unless you have nice adjustable jacks or something, you will really need 2 strong people to put this on your car safely.

And finally - I tested the hitch with a 6-hour roundtrip with a bike rack + 2 bikes on it, lots of bumpy roads. The hitch performed great, held tight with no issues.

I'm very happy with the hitch and will use this company again in a heart-beat!

by:

I had to go buy $[XX] worth of longer bolts, because the bolts that came with the trailer hitch were too short

by:

Got the car all ready to put the receiver hitch on making sure I had all the tools needed to do the job. Later in the day it arrived and went on just as the video showed. I just used car ramps to raise the car with a big piece of cardboard to lay on. I also used a stack of scrap wood together with the strap to slowly lower the muffler. My son started the bolts while I held it up. You definitely need a helper for that step. Snugged up all the bolts and good to go.

by:

Delivered on time. Had my mechanic install on my 2023 GMC AT4 Arcadia. He was impressed with quality and price. Sits back enough to easily pop on the original hitch cover plate back the bumper. This hitch will need a professional install due to configuration of Arcadia mufflers and heat shields. They have an excellent video showing you what needs to be done.

Year later and still going strong. Great hitch

by:

Works well. Installation is easy with a car lift and would be more challenging on the ground. Trimming of heat shield instructions were not 100% accurate and additional trimming was required, but it cuts easily. There was also additional seam sealer that I cut away for a good fit.

I wish the website's shipping estimates were more accurate - given that you sell a ton of trailer hitches, that part of your website could be made accurate. It put me behind a week from when I thought I'd have my hitch installed based on when the website said I'd have it.

That said - the hitch arrived - packaged well enough. The attached instructions weren't very detailed at all, but I had already watched the very detailed and well done videos from the website so I knew what I was in for. Those videos helped a ton with deciding which of the two hitch styles I wanted to use.

I hate taking off a star but that's just because the shipping estimates are very fixable if you guys make the effort. Otherwise, it's 5-stars all the way for communication when I reached out and for product quality and available detailed information online about installation on my vehicle.

Install took me maybe 2-3 hours - it's NOT fun - especially without a lift - the car just has some tight working spaces and you're getting up in there and getting pretty dirty - but the videos gave me plenty of ideas for how to tackle most of the challenges along the way. I'm looking forward to getting to try it out this week.

Still working great. If I were to change one thing, I’d put some form of noisevibration dampener between the hitch and the vehicle - every rattle of the trailer echoes through the vehicle and is much noisier than any vehicle I’ve owned with a factory hitch. But aside from that, it works great it’s a good height, and it feels solid.

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2023 GMC Acadia
The best hitch for your 2023 GMC Acadia is going to be the etrailer Hitch item # e36AR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your GMC with included hardware. I really like the etrailer hitch because it installs behind your rear bumper cover and can be completely hidden when you are not towing. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 5,000 lbs towing capacity, and a 750 lbs maximum tongue weight. I have linked a couple of pictures below along with an installation video...

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver Compatible With AT4 Trim on 2022 GMC Acadia
For your 2022 GMC Acadia AT4 you will need the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76023. Both the Curt # C13293 and our etrailer # e36AR will not fit the AT4 trim. The Draw-Tite is designed to fit as the factory receiver would and hides behind the removable fascia panel. For the wiring I recommend using the wiring from the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118276 to connect to the factory wiring. Instead of using the included 7-way you can connect the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector...

Hello MJ, We can definitely get you set up with a hitch. For your 2023 GMC Acadia you will want the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e36AR. Great thing about our etrailer hitch is that it comes in a matte black finish which I think gives it that OEM look. If you are looking to tow something without brakes, or using a hitch mounted accessory that needs a 4 flat connector, you want the # C56325. If you are looking to tow something a little...

Hello Gina. For your 2019 GMC Acadia I recommend the etrailer Class 3 Hitch # e36AR. This hitch has a 2" receiver and is rated for towing 5,000 lbs or 750 lbs of tongue weight. It will also be a fairly easy bolt-on installation. For a wiring harness I recommend the Curt T-Connector # C56326 which will also be quite easy to install. Both hitches are compatible with your SLT-2 sub model so it's just going to come down to which finish you prefer.
