Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon

Question:

What trailer hitch do you recommend for a 1028 Subaru Outback 2.5i Premium for the Thule TH9042 bike rack? Reviewing all the QandAs it looks like the Draw-Tite 76227 doesnt quite offer enough clearance.

When the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch # 76227 is installed on your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon, the hitch receiver will actually sit about flush with the rear bumper. There will be a distance of just around 2-1/2 inches from the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper.

Your Thule Helium Aero 2 Bike Rack TH9042 has a distance of 4-1/2 inches from the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack (which is the locking knob on the shank). With this in mind there should not be any interference issues between this bike rack and the rear bumper of your Subaru Outback with the Draw-Tite Hitch # 76227 installed.
