Yes, the Replacement 2" Hitch Adapter part # TH8523185001 is the correct replacement for your Thule Helium 3 Bike 971XT Bike Rack. In order to attach the adapter to your shank you will also need the Replacement Flat Cap Screw part # 853-5787-02.
