Where Does the Bumper have to be Trimmed on a 2016 Honda Civic to Install Curt Hitch C92UR

Question:

It would be useful if there was more information on the bumper grinding required for this hitch install. A video or close up pictures would be helpful.

I have included an install video for 2022 model of the Honda Civic which will show you about the trimming needed like that on you 2016 Honda Civic for trailer hitch # C92UR. The install of the hitch begins at the 3:25 mark and the trimming begins right after the 10:10 mark of the video. This will show you the trimming that needs done. A Dremel tool to accomplish the trimming.

The alternative is to use Curt hitch # C11463 for a coupe or # C11604 for the sedan. These hitches install differently. But with either of these the cross tube will be visible beneath the vehicle. With the # C92UR hitch only the receiver will be visible.
