Longer Shank for Pro Series Pro Series Weight Distribution Hitch

Question:
I pull a 2011 OutdoorsRV Timber Ridge 240RKS with a 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500. The problem is the trailer is so close to the truck bed that I have to make shallow turns or the front of the trailer will make contact with the top edge of the truck bed. Its a nightmare to turn around. Im already pushing my luck with tongue weight so I dont know if it can handle an extended shank if that is even an option. Is this normal or a bad trailer tongue length design? Any ideas?

Thanks for the photo, and to answer your question, yes, you can use a longer shank than the 12-1/2" that came with your Pro Series 49570 weight distribution hitch. The longest available that will work for you is the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4500 which is 18" long and has a maximum 7" rise or 3" drop, which is in line with the amount of rise and drop your Pro Series offers.
The Equal-i-zer shank works with tongue weights between 600 lbs and 1,400 lbs so there is not going to be any issue in with the 750 lbs to 1,000 lbs tongue weight your Pro Series is designed for.
