How long of a Fastway breakaway cable is for a fifth wheel?

Expert Reply:
You can use either a 4 foot cable like # FA80-01-2140 or a 6 foot cable like # FA80-01-2160. Either will work well on a 5th wheel trailer. Where you mount the breakaway on the trailer will dictate the best location for you to allow trailer turning and also a quick engagement if your trailer were to breakaway from your tow vehicle.
If you don't have the entire assembly, you can use # FA80-00-2040 for the 4 foot cable or # FA80-00-2060 for the 6 foot cable. I've attached an article to assist with installation and function.
