Question:
I do not have a hitch on my equinox, you recommended one for a hitch in the question I asked before. In going 1300 miles would a hatch mounted rack be secure enough and if so which one is best for the trip?

We have a wide variety of bike racks that are compatible with your 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and will do a great job of safely transporting your bike.
The bike rack that I recommend using to carry your bike with your Equinox is the Kuat Sherpa 2.0. This is compatible with 1-1/4" receivers in Black # SH12B, Pearl # SH12P, and Gray # SH12G, as well as 2" receivers in Black # SH22B, Pearl # SH22P, and Gray # SH22G. Both options are identical aside from what receiver they are compatible with.
The Sherpa 2.0 can carry up to two 40 lb bikes that have a wheel size of 25" - 29", a max tire width of 3", and a max wheelbase of 47". It has an aluminum construction that keeps the bike rack at a lightweight 32 lbs while also providing a rustproof bike rack option. It comes with built in bike and rack locks to secure your gear while making pit stops and deter theft.
I have attached a review video of the Sherpa 2.0 for you to check out.
