Which Yakima box will fit on my 2015 golf sportwagen w the factory side rails .. I understand that I will need cross bars as well . I need this box for skis and gear and would like the largest first down to lesser cubic ft after .. Thanks

For your 2015 VW Golf SportWagen, I recommend the Yakima CoreBar Crossbars - 50" Long # Y00421 and the TimberLine Towers # Y33TR. You will also want the lock cores # Y07204 to secure your investment. This will give you a crossbar spread of 46 inches maximum and the rack has a load capacity of 165 lbs.
This will allow any of the Yakima roof boxes to fit your vehicle, the largest of which is the Yakima SkyBox 21 Rooftop Cargo Box # Y07337. I've linked the page to all of your options listed in a similar way to what you've requested. I've also attached an article to help you determine the best fit by measuring from the front load bar to the rear hatch seam to determine length without compromising rear access.
