Question:

Hello from Georgetown Texas. I am interested in your TH05820 mounting kit. I am hoping that your kit will work with the Thule Ski Box model 631 that I haul on my 03 Chevy Suburban. Currently, as I am aging up, Ive found the original U boltinch mounting kit is at best making it very difficult to install the box. I watched your video a couple times and would seem that your kit would work well with my Thule ski box. Appreciate any and all info you can provide. Thanks in advance.

The original mounting hardware for the Thule Summit rooftop cargo box 631 is similar to the current QM3 kit # TH04997. The EasySnap hardware you mentioned has been discontinued so is no longer an option.

Any extra holes in the bottom of the box that will no longer be needed for the new hardware kit can be sealed up using silicone sealant # LT37467.

You might consider the handy folding Telestep's step # TE97FR for use with the cargo box. This aluminum step comes fully assembled, is very lightweight and folds up easily but still gives you about a foot of extra reach for easier loading and unloading of your cargo items. I own one of these and its great for use with cargo boxes and other rooftop items but it is also handy around the house and garage.
