Best Replacement Option For Discontinued Yakima SpaceCase With Rusted Hinges

Need hinges and attachments because the metal is rusted out. Only thing is they are rivières in. What’s the solution?

As your Yakima SpaceCase has been discontinued for some time now the only replacement parts available from Yakima are the Luggage Knobs # Y8870048. Unless you are able to find the parts used in good condition your best option is going to be to replace the box with a current model. This will also help in the event another part breaks or the hinges rust out again. The Yakima SkyBox 18 Rooftop Cargo Box # Y07336 is very similar in size being 92" long x 36" wide x 16" tall. Your SpaceCase is 92" long x 31.5" wide x 15" tall. The SkyBox attaches to round, square, aero, elliptical, and most factory crossbars which are under 3-1/2" wide and 1-11/16" tall.
