Question:
It seems that this hitch does not require the removal of the exhaust brackets for installation on a 2011 Lexus RX350 while the other brands do require that. How does this effect the positioning and final fit of the hitch?

According to the instructions for CURT Trailer Hitch, # C13143 installation, lowering the exhaust is optional if you have a hard time getting the hitch into position (see page 7 in the instructions I have linked). The CURT hitch is shaped in such away that on the passenger side, you may be able to maneuver the hitch up and around the muffler to get it in position.
The other hitches have a different shape and will more than likely require lowering the exhaust and repositioning of the exhaust bracket (see linked instructions for Draw-Tite, # 75676 ). The final fit and positioning will be basically the same for all of the hitches with the receiver directly below the rear fascia and the cross tubing hidden. You can see this fairly well in the photos of the test vehicle in the CURT instructions.
If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit, # 989900, which comes with 2 ball mounts, a 1-7/8 inch ball, a 2 inch ball, and a pin and clip. For trailer wiring, use # 118478, if the RX350 did not come with a towing package. If it did come with a factory towing package, you can use # 56083. I have included links to installation details for both wiring harnesses.
