This hitch opens up what your vehicle can do. With a 4,000-lb maximum gross trailer weight and 600-lb maximum tongue weight, it’s set up for light trailers, cargo carriers, or a couple of bikes on the back. Using weight distribution, those limits rise to 5,000 lbs GTW and 600 lbs TW, giving you more stability when hauling. The standard 2" x 2" receiver works with the most common ball mounts, racks, and carriers, so the accessories you already have will fit right in.

Fit perfect without touching my exhaust I’m very happy with it.
The mount plates are 1/2” too long. I had to cut out some of the car’s seam sealant to get a clean fit. The instructions indicate curring 4.5w by 6d. Actually neede to cut 9.5 deep. Also, the receiver is 1/2” shallow. It pushes up on the rear valence making for an overly tight fit.
Product is really good though. Just pointing out a couple nits.
Using hitch on Lexus RX450 hybrid for bike rack only. Easy install. Fit and instructions were excellent.
Also reccomend KUAT BETA aluminum bike rack.

The hitch fit my Lexus RX 450h perfectly and the online installation video made the process go well. Although I needed to wait a few weeks for the "back-ordered" Curt hitch, it was well worth it because it fits the 2017 Lexus RX 450h without showing any of the mounting framework. The hitch frame appears to be well made and was shipped complete with hardware without any damage.
Great looking hitch. Fit perfectly and is well-concealed from view on my 2019 Lexus RX450h. Template on instructions to trim underbody panel weren't accurate.

One year later and the hitch is doing fine. I have received several positive comments on how nice the hitch looks. Have actively used the hitch this past year. Definitely a good purchase.
The hitch was a little bit difficult for me to install by myself, but with the help of your video, a jack, and some 2x4's, I got it done. It slid into place and fit beautifully. It will certainly support my bike rack. This is the 2nd hitch I have installed from etrailer.com, and I have been pleased with both. Excellent delivery, instructions, and product.
The Curt trailer hitch has always been very reliable for me. This is my second Curt trailer hitch. I purchased one on my 04' Rx 330 and now on my 17' Rx 450h F Sport. I highly recommend it.
Installation by yourself is not always easy but doable. I used a brake caliper hook to hold it up in place for me as it is very heavy. Great price too at etrailer.com. Thanks
Good fit to my RX450h. Install was pretty smooth. I use a bike rack with the hitch. I plan to have 2 threaded bosses welded to the side of the receiver. This will allow me to tighten the rack tongue using locking screws. This will minimize sway in the rack.
This is a good quality product that fit my RX450h perfectly. Installation is fairly easy if you have a second person to help lift the hitch into place. The instructions are very basic so you will need to think parts of the install through on your own. You will need to cut a notch out of the plastic under-cover and I found that the instructions would have you cut way too much material. Measure carefully and take your time with this or you will end up with large gaps that will defeat the purpose of the cover. I was able to cut something close to a 2 1/2" slot instead of the recommended 4 1/2" and this left almost no gap. Also cut the back end in a semi-circle instead of rectangle in order to eliminate gaps at this position also. If you are also doing wiring with the T connector, be advised that the instructions will not help you in removing the interior trim panels. I found some youtube videos to help me here. Also once I was finished I realized that it should be possible to install the T connector without removing any trim. Just remove the floor to the rear cargo bay and then reach in on the passenger side all the way aft. The connector that you need to access is stowed here. A mirror may be helpful in locating it. You should be able to plug in the T connector and then fix the control box to the car body. I used exterior grade double-sided tape for this.
Nice job turning around the 1st hitch that didn't fit my Lexus RX 450H with one that did. Everything we needed was included and it was a fairly easy install.
One question: We had to remove the plastic under carriage layer to install the hitch. what do you recommend we do now that it has been installed? leave it off? Cut it down enough to re-install it?

We recommend trimming that fascia so that it fits around the trailer hitch receiver. If you check out the installation instructions linked on this product page you will be able to see the where the cut out should be.
Item received was as described, and arrived 1 day earlier than the schedule. I was a little concerned, because the shipping box was broken with few minor holes. Got it set up just fine.
Excellent price! Arrive in California within a week. Have also talked to the staff for bike rack recommendations. There are nice staff there with helpful advices!

Now I have the hitch receiver and a bike rack from this company for about a year, it’s been working like new. I only used it to move my college student in and out of the dorm, very light usage. It’s there when I need it, but doesn’t bother me at all once the bike rack is removed. I know there are many ways to use the receiver, but the needs haven’t come yet. Overall it’s a great investment!
Your hitch fits my 2016 Lexus RX450h perfectly. It was shipped faster than expected.

after a year... a reliable solution for my Lexus RX 400 Hybrid Sport, for which the Manufacturer did not offer a solution. Imagine that... a Sport model auto that does not offer a hitch!
Perfect fit! Bolted right up to the factory holes with no problem. The instructions were just about perfect too. I only had to extend the cut out on the lower facia under the back of the RX by an additional inch in length (7" vice 6") to clear the hitch and allow the cover to fit and align all the bolt holes. Very nice paint finish on the hitch too. Very happy with the price, fit and fast shipping!

The Curt hitch arrived on time and in great shape with the packaging. The instructioner were very straightforward and easy to follow. The main time consumption was actually removed and cutting the under-car trim pieces.
The hitch itself fit perfectly and can be managed with one person, with slight struggles. One all was set it bolted directly in, fit exactly as expected.
Very satisfied with the quality and performance of the Curt hitch from etrailer.

A year later and still looking great. The coating is holding up well even with Michigan winters. Continue to be impressed.
Can’t say enough about how easy it was for my husband and I to install the trailer hitch on our 2017 Lexus. The video was excellent with detailed step by step directions and helpful hints. Would highly recommend any novice to take the leap and save from paying for installation. All the new vehicles have predrilled holes that are capped and easily removed. You can do it with etrailers guidance. Thank you.

Perfect, no complaints
easy install and fast shipping
This is the one you want! For a 2016 RX450h, this hitch receiver is the one you should pick. Unlike the Draw-Tite, the Curt receiver has a curved main support that goes up and over the exhaust, leaving it in it's factory location, while the Draw-Tite requires you to lower the exhaust about 3 inches. I installed both. I returned the Draw-Tite and am super happy with the Curt.
2020 Lexus 450h Fit well, did not have to jack/lift the car. You do have to angle the hitch to go up and over the exhaust, but you do not have to unmount the exhaust. Note, I'm very glad I went with this version. The clearance under the car is not impacted, it is super low profile discrete. I did do my own custom cutting of the air shield, which took me about 30min to get it nice and tight fitting. So glad I bought this version.
I was able to install the hitch with no help. I had to remove the muffler hanger and lower the muffler until I got the hitch in place. I then got one bolt on the muffler side of the hitch started but left very loose. I then reinstalled the muffler hangar bracket bolts to frame because the hitch blocked would block access to the muffler bracket bolts if not left very loose. I used two jack stands to suport the left side of the hitch while securing the right side of the hitch to the frame with one bolt and then I secured the left side of the hitch to the vehicle. It took approximately 1/2 hour to install. I choose this hitch because most of the hitch is hidden.
I bought this for my 2017 RX450h. I received the product missing some of the hardware but etrailers promptly rectified that problem, great customer support. This hitch is well made and fit like a glove with no need to move the exhaust. I needed a hitch to primarily transport my family bikes and the Lexus dealer version of the hitch was of lower towing class and ridiculously more expensive. I got this installed within 30 minutes and there were absolutely no issues. Looks great and does the job.
Wow! I am extremely happy with this purchase. Lexus wanted almost $900 for a hitch and install. This hitch fits perfectly on my 2016 RX450, and was very easy to install by myself. You can install it without lifting the car if you are ok with getting on the ground and under the car. It took me about 70 minutes to complete with help from the video. The hitch is heavy so you may need an extra hand when lifting it for attaching. My wife chipped in by holding the hitch in place while I put the bolts in. This is definitely the way to go and saves you a ton of money. I will use this for my Thule bike rack and Thule ski tram. I am very satisfied and recommend this purchase for RX450 owners looking for a hitch.
I have the tow package with my 2018 Lexus rx 450h so needed the receiver to pull a small trailer and boat. Easy install. Did it alone. Video is helpful. Clean look with the wiring package and plate and bracket assembly.

It is possible that the hitch was flexed which caused it to not fit properly. I have linked an article below that can help advise how to correct flexed hitches.
