Trailer Hitch Receiver and Wiring Harness for a 2017 Nissan Titan with No Tow Package

Question:

I own a 2017 Nissan Titan SV crew cab 4 door 4wheel drive truck NOT XD. This truck did not come with a tow package. I need ALL parts to plug into my truck to allow me to tow up to 8000lbs. Im looking for a plug and playinch set-up. Just get me set up for 2inch receiver and forward through the truck and Im good to go. I already have my and ball set-up.

Even though your 2017 Nissan Titan doesn't have the tow package it should still have the standard round connector to install trailer wiring behind the rear bumper. Part # N40975 includes the 7-way and 4-way connector that plugs right into your truck, as well as the relays to installto activate the wiring. I've linked a video that shows the install on a 2010 Titan for you. The process is the same.

With a trailer that large it's likely to hve brakes so you need a brake controller. I recommend the Prodigy P3, part # 90195. It's one of the most reliable controllers on the market and it's extremely easy to use because of the LCD. Use the wiring adapter, part # 3050-P, to install the P3 in your Titan. A video of this install is linked as well

The hitch I recommend is the Draw-Tite, part # 76154. It's a 2 inch receiver, like you need, and is custom designed to fit your truck. I've linked the install details for you. It bolts on with no drilling however you do need to remove the tow hooks if you have them.

My 2017 Titan does not come with a round plug at the bumper. The connection s down from the fuse box into the front passenger wheel well with a yellow connector. I need a wiring harness that goes from that connector all the way back to the hitch receiver including the OEM plug in that attaches to the pre-cutout hole in the bumper itself.

We don't have a harness available that's designed to plug into that port you described. I'm wondering if this is a factory component that you need to obtain directly from Nissan or a local dealer. I recommend checking with them to see if that's the case - once you have the harness all you'd need is the Hopkins # N40975 Charles mentioned above.
