Question:

I have a 2010 Chevy 2500 diesel, the receiver is larger than 2, I believe it is 2 1/4. I use a reducer in able to use a standard 2x2inch shaft. Will this anti rattle device work?

The Brophy Stabilizer Bracket # RHSB will not work with a 2-1/2-inch hitch that is used with a reducer sleeve like # C45405 but we do have options that will. All anti-rattle devices for use with a 2-1/2-inch hitch like the one on your 2010 Silverado are displayed on the page I linked for you.

The one I recommend is the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-062. This item is rated for both accessory use with things like bike racks and also for towing applications. You can use this so long as your hitch tube has a ring or collar around the end, like the one shown in the linked photo.

If you have a hollow shank ball mount or other accessory and need a pin style anti-rattle I suggest the XL Anti-Rattle # SHP2040-XL.
