Question:

I was given an old-school Thule rear hitch 4- bike rack. I have a 2inch receiver, but the existing tongue is 1.25. Would part 853-7489 work? I am attaching a picture of the end of the hitch. It should be rather universal, correct?

The correct receiver will depend on the bike rack that you have, as each have a different shape and pin hole placement.

Since it's an older rack, your most likely fit is part # 853-7292, for the Ridgeline 4 bike, or Roadway 2 or 4 bike. Without seeing the rest of the rack, I can't directly identify the bike rack completely.
