Question:

Hello! Does the Yakima Hold-Up 2 and Yakima Two-Timer use the same tongue assembly? I currently have a Yakima Two-Timer and looking to get a Yakima Hold-Up 2 from here. I already have a Yakima Two-Timer with 1 1/4 tongue. It looks like I could attach my holdup to the same tongue though. They have the same mounting bolt, latching pin, and locking hitch pin. I just have two cars, one with 1 1/4 and the other with a 2 in hitch. Just wanted to know your opinions, I think theyre the same!

Unfortunately the tongue of your Yakima Two-Timer is different from your Yakima Hold-Up 2, so they cannot be interchanged. I have included pictures below that show the difference.

Your best option is two get the Yakima HoldUp EVO bike rack, part # Y02480. It is an 1 1/4" bike rack that can hold all sized bike tires. Then you would get a the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter, part # C45770, This will reduce your 2" hitch receiver to an 1 1/4". It will allow you to put your rack on each of your vehicles without having to disassemble your rack whenever you want to transport your bikes.
