Question:
When using the Erickson Roller Idler for E-Track what E-track tie down anchor do you recommend using for the ratchet end of the tie down? Is it critical that the force is now parallel rather than perpendicular to the E-track? ie. you are pulling the anchor to the side rather than up away from the track Does this direction of pull decrease the capacity of an anchor such as the 59147 2,000lbs Erickson tie down ring? Thanks

The Erickson E-Track Tie Down Ring # 59147 that you mentioned will work very nicely along with the Erickson Roller Idler # EM09144. This tie down ring has a Safe Working Load Limit of 2,000 pounds and a 6,000 pound capacity. As you referenced in your question, when using this with the Roller Idler that will act as an anchor point, the strap will then be fed through the ratchet and run more parallel to the E-track. This will not affect the weight capacity of the Tie Down Ring. I confirmed this with my contact at Erickson.
Another option you might consider instead of adding the D Ring is a ratchet strap like # EM59136, which will attach directly to the E-track. I have included a short video demonstration on this product that you can take a look at.
