Can the spring perches be move closer together to fit a trailer.

The Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes - EZ-Lube - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 89" - 3,500 lbs # e43SR can have the spring locations changed. You can simply have the Spring Seat for Typical 3,500-lb, Round Trailer Axles with 2-3/8" Diameter # TRSS238 welded in the desired locations versus the 74 inches center on center they come with. What you cannot change is the hub face to hub face length. There is a maximum from the hub face to the spring seat, so at most you can on a straight axle move your spring seats to 71 inches on center. Anything more can change the capacity of the axle according to the manufacturer.

To mount the Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler - Trigger Latch - Bolt On #CT-5003-Z, I recommend using 1/2 inch bolts. The higher the grade, the stronger the bolt. I've attached the review video to help as you plan this installation.
