Speaker 1: Today we'll be taking a look at the Malone safety pole for trailers, part number MPG488. It's a 40-inch fiberglass pole that'll stick up above your loads on your trailer to make it easy to see when backing up or parking maneuvers. It's got a nice bright yellow color, so it'll be easily visible at all times, and it'll also make it easier for people following behind you to keep tabs on where your trailer is. It can also be mounted at the back end of your boat. This will make it easier when loading and unloading your boat on the dock. Also included in the kit, you'll get a mounting bracket so you can clamp it on one of your rails. This is particularly useful on trailers such as the Malone MegaSport, MicroSport, or UltraLight.
Now you can take your safety pole, the included bolt and flat washer, slide it through the loop on the safety pole, and slide that through both brackets, and put the locknut on the other side. Now your pole is installed higher on one of your rails, and at the furthest rear point on your trailer. It can also be mounted to any other trailer using any open hole, using the provided hardware, and you won't need the clamps. That completes our look at the Malone safety pole for trailers.

I bought the safety poles to help with back-up. My SUV is quite tall and these help with back-up.
Have used the safety wands before and they were great for about 500 miles and then they break off and need to be replaced. I ordered 3 this time and will try to monitor exactly what is either coming loose or breaking as they are too expensive to replace every time I use them.

Although I don’t use it often, I have been very happy with it so far.
Very happy with trailer. Fairly easy to assemble but directions could be better. Took about 4 hours to build basic trailer by myself. Additional 1.5 hrs. to add carriers, spare tire, kick stand, etc.
Installed easily and works perfectly!
Great little trailer. Perfect for what I needed...something to haul my 16 1/2 foot canoe and 13' 8" kayak. Instructions were clear and there were no components missing.
The trailer safety poles are well made, easfy to install.
Exactly as pictured, fits perfectly.

Unfortunately I have had the pole break again 2x at the metal attachment to the pole. Seems the metal eventually fatigues from the wobbling from the wind.
