What exactly is the purple wire for on the control module? Please explain a good example for the use of the purple wire please. My goal is to have a light under the steps when camping on step switch is off. Thank you

The purple wire of the Coach Step Module part # LC301702 that you referenced is for the step light switch. It is designed to send power to the step light switch so that the light comes on.
