Wire Diagram for Lippert Power Steps for Troubleshooting Wiring and Power Module
Question:
My steps will not retract. I tested the voltage into the control mortal and it was 12.s volts. I tested the voltage out, on the pigtail that connects to the motor, and found no voltage. I had my door closed and the step switch turned to on. Likewise, the steps do not retract when the ignition is turned on and the rig started. If my testing was faulty, and it turns out not to be a mortal problem, what is the return policy? Long time etrailer customer.ski

If you check out the diagram I attached you will see how the steps should get wired up. What I would first do is verify that you have voltage in all of the right places on your steps to determine if the module needs to be replaced with the # LC301702.
The green wire gets grounded to the chassis.
The white wire gets connected to the power switch which then goes to the positive battery post.
The yellow wire gets run to the a keyed power source, power only with ignition on.
The red wire connects to the positive battery post for the motor.
The brown wire gets connected to door switch.
I attached a link to our returns policy page.

I have a 2010 damon challenger with an electric step. The step retracts and extends when the ignition is on but not when the step switch is on and the ignition off. I do have power to the white wire at the 4 pin plug when step switch is on.
