Today we're going to take a look at the Lippert Components Kwikee Motor and the Screws for a New IMGL Steps. Now this Kwikee Motor and Screws is for the new IMGL Steps that are manufactured after October 2005. And the IMGL and the step stands for Integrated Motor Gearbox and Linkage. This is designed to help the step automatically extend when you open your RV door and retract when you close your RV door. This is the direct replacement for the older model Lippert number, number 366043.And this motor will automatically shut down if the step does strike an obstacle. The actual part number on this Kwikee part number is 1101428 and it does come with the three mounting screws to install it.But that should do it for the review on the Lippert Components Kwikee Motor and Screws for a New IMGL Step.
I appreciate the prompt shipping of the Replacement Motor for Kwikee Electric RV steps on my 2018 Jayco Greyhawk Model 31DS. Installation went well after I watched a youtube video of someone else doing a replacement, except for one minor hiccup. After the motor was installed and it seemed to be working fine, I could not line up the pivot point of the steps with the hole in the end of the circular arm bracket. When the motor was fully extended the arm was pushed out a bit too far. I kept playing with the alignment, but could not seem to make any progress, so I posted a picture of the misalignment on the Jayco Greyhawk-Redhawk social media page and asked for suggestions. Several of the members posted the suggestion to pull the power supply from the motor when the circular arm was about halfway extended to stop the arm, and then we were able to lift the steps part way up until we could align the retaining pin with the hole in the step pivot. Once we got the pin in and replaced the cotter pin to hold it, the motor and the steps operated correctly. Sorry that I forgot to take a photo of the pin in place, but I was so happy that it all worked correctly, that I forgot to take the after photo. Trust me, it is working well now.
Made an easy fix even easier. Perfect replacement part - just don't forget that it does not come with the drive gear nor the required spacers (washers), so you'll need to pull those off of your old motor.
The automatic boarding stairs on my 2018 Thor Siesta had gotten to the point that they would not fully retract when closing the cabin door. I lubricated the step mechanism and also checked the electrical operation as per the manual. Still no improvement. I had an RV technician come out and he suggested that the gearbox appeared to be stripped or defective. He installed a new gearbox, but the problem remained, and he suggested that it could be a weak motor that was overloading and shutting down before completely stowing the steps. He told me that it was simple enough for me to replace it myself and I ordered a new motor assembly from eTrailer. I received it two days later, and installed the new motor assembly in less than half an hour. The steps retract all the way now. Thanks for having this unit in stock and getting it to me so fast.
Steps broke on the road, not sure if it was the step moter or what Kwikee calls the "gear/linkage A Curved. Removed everything, it was the gear drive on the motor, the larger gear box was good. Ordered a new motor, arrived on time. Reinstalling the gear box was "fun". Installing the motor was straight forward. Per the Kwikee owners manual I readjusted the "cam stops". This is important, I believe the original motor gear drive failed because the cam stops were not properly adjusted. If your steps "fail" pull the motor assy, the gear box is fairly robust, the motor/gear drive will probably fail first.
Looked like better quality than the one I replaced.
Once figured out how to pull the connector, it was a perfect fit. Watch for loose parts when pulling current motor.
Thanks Brittany for assisting me with this order. The motor works great easy installation. etrailer is a great company to work with.
This part fit good and the steps work great! Customer service was fantastic! Keep up the good work!
etrailer customer service is 5 star however kwikee step motor and gear box are poor design, short life span. Uses a metal gear meshing to plastic gear is terrible engineering. I replaced 3 motors and 1 gear box on 2 different Tiffin in 10 years. I’m sure some owners have had better luck but hasn’t been my case and according to social media a lot of people post step problem. I ordered my last motor from etrailer because along with my 10 year history with buying from etrailer if you call them they make sure you buy the correct part. They ship on time and I have never had a problem with them but confident if I did it would get resolved quickly and satisfactorily.

I sold my RV last Ju e so the steps we working when I sold it.So this response y not apply however it wasn’t the step parts I gave 5 stars to as it’s still a poor designed part unfortunately the only one you can replace with. My 5 star award was based entirely on past encounters and service with etrailer. Your year follow up just proves my point. I wish you continued success

Worked perfect and was easy to swap out. If your motor dies go ahead and get the gear box as well. Makes the swap out that much easier!
Part arrived and fit as advertised. Helpful phone support during the ordering process.
Be careful of the gear, alignment pin and spacers when removing old motor.
Jill did a fabulous job leading me to the exact replacement part I needed. Shipping was quicker than quoted and part motor was amazing. Thank you Jill and etrailer
We have an Entegra Odyssey, and the entry step stopped working. This was the exact part that we needed. It took six days to receive the part. It was an extremely easy and quick replacement. I would give it 5 stars, but it needs to be used for a while to determine it endurance.
Service / speed of delivery was excellent. Seems like I needed to replace the motor but in reality it was a intermittent ground which destroyed my step control board. I bought a new control board from etrailer, rerouted the ground to a solid point on the chassis and all is good for a entire year. I’m keeping the motor as a spare. You need spares just incase.
The motor drive is exactly like the original in fit and finish. 3 bolt installation.
Easy to find the part needed. Very fast shipping. Our power steps are working again.
The replacement motor was exactly what I needed! I put it on and the RV steps worked perfectly! Thank you e-trailer for such great delivery service, as well as easy step-by-step ordering online. If I have any other problems, I will not hesitate to go back online again to your website! Thank you, again, for your superb customer service!

Works perfectly. E Trailer is awesome.
Quality product, easy to install
My steps got stuck retracted back in May. A friend and I troubleshoot and initially we believed it to be the motor, but after removal it worked, so I replaced the Control Module instead. Steps were working until I got to the camp site and once again they got stuck retracted, I tapped on the motor a couple of times and it extended. As soon as we got it home it happened again, so I ordered the motor. Took me about 10 minute to change out; ensure you bring the old motor straight down so you don't drop the gear and pin from it, those will need to be transferred over to the new motor before installation.
