Recommendation for a Replacement Boat Winch for a Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a DL800 Dutton Lainson winch mounted on my boat trailer that needs to be replaced/repaired. I bought the boat in 1987, 17 ft Glasstream w/150HP Johnson fish and ski. The teeth are worn down on the small crank gear. Your suggestions?

Dutton Lainson moved from an 800 pound boat winch and now have a 900 pound winch that I think would work well for you. Take a look at Hand Winch, # DL15002. This is a 900 pound winch with a TUFFPLATE finish that resists corrosion and would be a good choice for marine applications.

This winch can be used with either a cable or a strap. For a cable, you can use # DL24044 with fastener # DL24360. Or, if you prefer a strap instead of a cable, you can use # DL24043. I have included a link to our hand winch FAQ article.
