Question:
Im shopping for my grandfather who has a 2015 buick encore. He is in a mobility scooter now and needs to attach a mobile carrier to the back. Total weight of both will be 250-280lbs. What hitch can we get? also Im in canada. any help is appreciated

Expert Reply:
I'd recommend buying the strongest hitch available, which for the 2015 Buick Encore is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT32GR.
This hitch will provide you with a 2" receiver and a tongue weight capacity of 525 pounds, allowing you to carry the mobility scooter and carrier on the rear. You will want to verify your vehicle's total hitch weight capacity with the manufacturer or owner's manual to verify you are not exceeding your vehicles limits.
The best option for a carrier would be the 32x48 Reese Steel Solo Cargo Carrier and Folding Ramp # PS10401-10402. This carrier has a 400 lb. weight capacity and a ramp to make loading the scooter easier.
