Features to know about

Installs Without Cutting or Splicing: Plug-In T-Connector

Wiring up for towing doesn’t have to mean cutting into factory wires. The Curt T-Connector plugs directly into existing vehicle connectors to create a clean 4-flat trailer plug. It’s a true plug-and-play setup—no splicing, no guesswork, and no risk of damaging the vehicle’s wiring.

Keeps Trailer Lights Working Right: Built-In Converter

The integrated converter in this harness makes sure your trailer lights stay bright and function properly. It handles the signal translation between the vehicle and trailer circuits, so running lights, turn signals, and brake lights all work as they should. That reliable power control helps prevent issues like dim or always-on LEDs.

Simple Power Connection: In-Line Fuse Holder for Safety

This harness draws power directly from the battery through an in-line fuse holder. That setup protects both the vehicle and trailer circuits in case of a short or overload. It’s a small detail that adds an extra layer of safety while keeping the installation straightforward.

Ready for Everyday Towing: Standard 4-Flat Connector

The 4-pole flat plug is the standard connector for most small and mid-size trailers. It provides running, turn, and brake light functions so you’re legal and visible on the road. Once installed, just connect your trailer plug and you’re ready to tow.

Video Transcript for Feature Review Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector-C43FR

Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this Curt T-connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with this four-way flat trailer connector. Now this is a custom fit part and is designed to fit the 2019 and newer Chevrolet Trax vehicles. And on a custom fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle and it'll show if this'll work for application. Now this harness will provide this four-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights.

It is compatible with five pole, six pole and seven pole adapters that we do sell separately. And this does connect very quickly and easily. Basically just locate your connection points, which are in the rear cargo area. Plug in these T-connectors, one on each side, one on the driver's side, one on the passenger side, and then ground your white wire here, and then run this power wire to your vehicle's battery. Now this does include this black box here, which is a tail light converter. And this is to ensure that your vehicle's wiring will match that of your trailer.

It is a powered module, so it does connect directly to the battery to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system. This converter is constructed using SMT technology, which is surface mount technology, gives you more consistent, reliable performance. It will help maximize your trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat, and it ensures superior operation in rough road conditions. Now this does come with everything shown here on the table. I'm going to go through the steps here on how this all installs. It does come with this nice dust cover you can see that you can just attach it to the four-way plug and you can leave it on there if you want.

And then when you're not plugged into a trailer, you can just put this cover on there and that'll protect those terminals from any damage or from the elements.A few specs on this harness. The maximum amperage for the stop and turn light circuits is 5.5 amps per circuit. For the tail light circuit is 7.5 amps per circuit. So basically what you'll do is as we mentioned, go to the rear cargo area. Now it does come with a nice set of instructions that'll describe where all these connections are and how they're made, but basically in the rear cargo area, you'll go behind the excess panels and you'll be able to see on the driver's side, this is the one with the yellow and red wire.

There'll be connectors that you'll pull apart and then these will T into it, and you'll do the same with this connector. It has a length of wire. It's the red and green, that's for the passenger side, run this over to the passenger side and behind the access panel. Again, you'll pull the connectors apart, plug this inner T into it.Once those are all connected, this black box here, this converter box, you do want to attach this to a flat surface so it doesn't bounce around. So you can use a screw, here's a little tab here, you put a screw in there to attach it down. They do include this double faced tape you can use to attach it down. Has this large cable tie that you can wrap it around, but either way you want to secure this so it doesn't bounce around. And then you run this bonded wire with the four-way out the back towards the trailer. And the remaining connections will be these two wires, the white one with the eyelid on it, that's for your ground. So you can connect this to a nearby ground, a good clean ground. If there's not one nearby, they give you a screw that you can make your own ground. And then the power wire, that would need to run to the front of the vehicle, attach to your vehicle's battery. They do give you the length of wire to do that and the connectors. So what you want to do is take your power wire, take a butt connector, put it on one end, connect it to one end of this wire and then run your length of wire up to the front. They do give you some extra cable ties to take up any slack in that wiring. Once you get it to the front, you don't want to run this directly to the battery. You want to run it through this inline fuse holder. So you take your other butt connector, connect it to one side, just like that. And then once that's connected, take the islet connector that they include, put then on this side, and this is what'll connect to your vehicle's battery.Once it's all connected, all you have to do is pop open the inaudible 00:03:55 holder, take your included 15 amp fuse, push it in. It's all installed, pop your cap on and your system's all ready to go.That should do it for the review on this Curt T-connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the four-way flat trailer connector.

Was very easy to install I did it myself although you did have to wire it underneath the car and threw the frame it wasn't that hard

by:

Your instructions require you to remove the complete side panels which is not required. There are two access covers, one on each side that's all you need to remove. Also the wire you are to run to the battery should be red, not black. Red is positive color on battery, black is negative color!

Good product put together to cover a wide range of installation situations.
I gather from the videos that there are several different possibilities to obtain power for the module. They got you covered.
Found it straight forward to install. Almost plug and play.
If you don’t like running wire from the battery up front, it is possible to obtain power from the fuse block behind the panel on driver’s.(imagination required.)
Pleased with the results.

  • Wiring Harness For A 2020 Chevy Trax Without LED Lights
Hi Rick! For your 2020 Chevy Trax that does not have LEDs, I recommend going with the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118659. This one is specifically designed for vehicles without LEDs and is still a plug and play harness. Tekonsha also makes the best wiring harnesses out there, so it's the one to get. Do you already have the hitch for your Trax? If not, I highly recommend going with the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Tail Lights Always On with Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness
There are a few possible reasons why the trailer lights are on all the time on your trailer. The first possibility is that your trailer lights are LED. LED lights take significantly less power so it is possible to see a dim glow even when the vehicle is off. You can simply disconnect the trailer wire from your vehicle to put a stop to this. If they are fully illuminated that may be a different problem. According to Curt, a malfunction in the converter on the # C43FR wiring harness would...

  • Does Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch DT32GR Fit 2021 Chevy Trax & Is It Class III
Hi Gary, Yes, for the 2021 Chevy Trax, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT32GR is a Class III and is indeed a fit for your vehicle. As for what else you need, that depends on what you are using the hitch for, though you plan on doing some towing and need a 4-way wiring harness, use # C43FR if you have the LT model or # 118659 if you have the LS model.
