Recommended Tire Clearance Between Tires on Dual Axle Trailer

Question:
What is the recommended clearance between tires on a dual axel trailer?
asked by: John
Expert Reply:
There should be 2 inches minimum between the tires on a dual axle trailer. This will allow the suspension components room to work properly but a little more room is ideal. For instance the Ultra-Fab Chock and Lock Wheel Stabilizers for Tandem-Axle Trailers and RVs - Qty 2 # UF21-001070 is designed to be used between the two wheels and will work on wheel spacing between 1-1/2 and 5-1/4 inches. 3-1/2 to 5-1/4 inches is my recommendation.
The axle spacing center to center should be between 28-3/4 and 33 inches for most tandem axle applications.
