Hey Russell! Curt recommends using the Curt Lube Plate for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # C16722 with the Curt Helux.
How are you liking the Helux so far? Any trips coming up with your 2022 Vanleigh Beacon?

Russell, I am using the C16722 plate with my setup. I’m a customer of e-trailer and have no affiliation with them as far as any kind of outside arrangement or anything. I’m towing a 30,000 pound excavator and trailer with the setup I’m using. I’ve had this combination for at least a year and a half or two. Maybe more. The plate has hardly worn and the pads on the fifth wheel itself are still in great shape. I’d highly recommend heating up the leading tip of your plate when you get it installed to kind of fold it up a little bit so it’s not sticking straight out in the front. It locks into place well and doesn’t tend to pivot left to right, particularly after you’ve folded up the lip a little bit with a heat gun or some kind of similar device. We’re not heating it greatly, but just a little bit just to give it a rise so when it goes on and off of the fifth wheel that it doesn’t catch. Def highly recommend the set up. I use my commercially. I even bought a spare and I’m so far from needing it that it’s quite impressive. Hope this helps!
