Question:

Im new to RVing and recently purchased a DEMCO Autoslide to mount in my Sierra 3500. I anticipate that there will be times when its just my wife and I installing and removing the receiver ourselves when it is time to go RVing for a while. Any recommendations on loading that 250lb receiver onto the bed of the truck? What are others experiences? Im thinking engine hoist.

This is a great question. We actually addressed this with Demco and we came up with a solution. They started making the Demco 5th Wheel Lifting Bracket # DM6100 which can be used with an engine hoist, or winch. This allows you to easily load and unload a heavy hitch like the Demco Autoslider # DM8550034 into or out of the bed.
