How is Lippert SolidStep Installed on 2018 Keystone Sprinter?

Question:
I have a 2018 Keystone Sprinter. I have read your answers in the QandA and the pictures you have posted and cant find out whether the ladder replaces the threshold or is installed under the OEM threshold

The SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps # LC791575 will need to install flush against the trailer's sidewall, with the door and door frame removed, which you can see in the photo of the instructions I've included; this would not be done underneath the threshold as it would not be possible to properly screw it in that way.
