Question:
You said in an answer to a customers question before that the youtube video showing the install of the 56200 could be used as a guide. The problem is the 236 has separate running wires and brake wires, while the old one just had one wire for both somehow. Assuming I can use the one they used in the video for brake only. I still need to know where to attach the running light wire. Another customer talks about a 2013, but I think they changed the wiring in 2012, because it doesnt match what they did in the video for the 2011. Ive been trying to figure out which one to tap into with no luck so far. I know I have to have the hatch down for the tail lights to light up.

For your 2011 Audi Q5 the correct trailer install harness is the part # C59236 that you referenced.
Your vehicle has pulse width modulation taillight wiring which is what the Curt harness is designed to work with. The brown wire of this harness (for the running lights) needs to get grounded on your taillight setup.
