Question:

I have a 1972 Calkins single axel, drum brake boat trailer. The master cylinder has the # 298390 stamped on the side. No obvious manufacturer name, but made in USA on the other side. Is this what is referred to as a model 6? It looks similar but has what appears to be a square head bleed plug on the hydraulic line end. See pic. Do you guys do a rebuild kit, or is an equivalent replacement the only option. Many thanks for your assistance.

Out of the available options it does appear that the Model 6 actuator's master cylinders, # T1027100 or # T1777401, are the best and pretty much only options for you. On your master cylinder that additional fitting could be a port for a reverse lockout but either way the new one will not have that on it. We have a few individual parts for some master cylinders but no rebuild kit for the Model 6.
