Replace your bow roller assembly with this complete kit. Includes a 4" roller, 2 end bells, and corrosion-resistant hardware. Black TPR material is stronger than rubber and softer than polyurethane.

The middle part is rubber which is not as rough on the boat as the hard plastic one that came with our boat.

In er wheel was too narrow for my existing needs. I used the outer parts to replace OEM that were hard and deformed.

I was extremely happy with it after installation. I purchased it to replace an old one that was marking up my bow with black marks. This one is muck better than that old one, but I still get more faint black marks on the bow . Just wish I went with the more translucent yellowish one that most others have gone with.

I contacted yates and they recommend going with the yellow roller part # YR450Y-400Y to avoid black marks. The blue roller part # YR450B-400B will also work.

Considering the the original part on my trailer lasted 25 years before needing to be replaced, the wear so far on the replacement part is way more than it should be. The first one was made in the USA......no idea where the replace meant came from ...but I bet I could guess

I am new (again) to boating, and being on the frugal side, always want to compare products that I purchase. This product was a great addition to our boat trailer when the OEM part failed. The larger side wings make it much easier to line the boat up on the trailer and help protect the finish on the front of the boat.

Bow Roller Recommendation to Fit 4 inch Roller that is Too Long
Looks like you have the part # YR450BLK-400BLK installed and are needing the next size down which happens to be the part # YR300BLK-325BLK. This fits the same 1/2 inch diameter shaft but is 1 inch shorter than what you have. Your bell ends being deformed would not be a good sign.

How to Prevent Metal Bow Roller Brackets from Contacting the Boat
Almost all bow roller assemblies have an industry standard hardness of 85a durometers. I was able to call my contact at Yates to confirm this. I do have a solution for you but we do not have any bow rollers with a hardness rating greater than 85a durometers at this time. However, I believe the problem you are experiencing can be eliminated using a wider roller as this would in turn dissipate the weight more evenly to minimize contact with the metal brackets. Thanks for the picture! I have an option that may work for you, but unfortunately we do not have a bow stop that mounts in the same fashion as the one pictured.
