Question:
Hello, the hatchback of my 2017 Prius Prime is glass not metal all the way to the point where it hinges at the roof. Theres plenty of room to a stabilizer strap in the gap there, between the hatchback glass and the metal roof. But is the glass sturdy enough to withstand the stresses placed on it by the strap? I want to carry two bikes with a Class 1 bike carrier made for two bikes.

The Curt Hitch Receiver, part # C11473 is a confirmed fit for the 2017 Prius Prime. Curt hitches require that you use Curt Trailer Hitch Support Strap, part # 18050 with every load to avoid voiding your warranty.
When using the stabilizing strap, I would recommend connecting it to the bottom of the hatch door, rather than the top to keep the stress off of the glass.
I also recommend looking at lighter weight bike rack like the Kuat Beta, part # B202-114, which is an aluminum frame hanging rack that comes in at an efficient 12.6lbs without sacrificing strength.
A cable lock like the 10' Cable Lock, part # e98891 is a great addition to provide added security to your rig.
