I have a 1500 lb Blue Ox sway pro which is good for 1000-1500lb tongue weight. I may get a smaller trailer with a tongue weight of 700lb. What would happen if I use my existing bars rather than replacing them. Would it help if I adjusted the chain looser. Thanks

If you use a weight distribution system with spring bars that rated higher than what the trailer calls for you will have a rough ride quality that will be very unpleasant.
If the tongue weight is going to be under 750 lbs you'd want the part # BXW4006 or if over 750 part # BXW4007 would be what you need.
You should that the tongue weight figure includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle.
