What are the Best Options for Economical Camper Tie-Down in 2004 Nissan Titan?

Question:
Hello, I am trying to figure out the best and most cost effective way to tie down my camper. I have a 2004 Nissan Titan 1/2 ton with the TorkLift front frame tie downs installed, with a 47-inch reach between tie down and camper. In the rear, I have bumper mounted D rings, with an obviously shorter reach. I am hauling a 1996 Skamper 8-foot bed with cab-over-bed so about 12-foot total nose to tail, slide in pop-up camper with an approximate dry weight of 1200 lbs. I have the original TorkLift basic chain and turnbuckles that came with the Front tie downs, but I am currently not using them as I did not like how the turn buckles operated. Very cumbersome to re-tighten on the road. Currently, I am using 4 - 1000lb working weight rated nylon ratchet straps. These worked great with my previous smaller 4 wheel pop-up, but I am not sure they are the best tie down method for the larger Skamper. I am trying to decide between chain with turnbuckles and derringer handles, the TorkLift AnchorGuard and the expensive TorkLift FastGuns. Your thoughts and ideas are much appreciated. Thank You

If you are looking for an effective way to tie down your camper, but did not like the cumbersome way you had to re-tighten your previous turnbuckles, then the best solution for you is going to be the TorkLift AnchorGuard, # TLS9020. These are only going to require you to flip the handles down and not continually re-tighten. Not to mention the fact that you can lock them with the Pin Locks for TorkLift FastGun and Derringer Turnbuckle Handles, # TLS9500.
