Does Curt Hitch C15318 Fit 2001 Dodge Ram Like Stock Hitch
Updated 05/30/2017 | Published 05/28/2017 >
Question:
I have an 01 Ram 2500 6ft bed 4x4 with a ranch hand style replacement bumper. I have modified the bumper to ensure I can still use the stock frame mount receiver with this BWTS10043B tow and stow ball mount. Does the receiver tube on the c15318 sit higher than the stock frame mount receiver and is the tube shorter than the stock receiver? That picture is the current clearance I have between the top of the receiver tube and the rear bumper.

Expert Reply:
The Curt hitch part # C15318 that you referenced is going to put the hitch tube at the same height and location as the stock hitch of your 2001 Ram 2500. It's hard to say for certain if the hitch will clear the bumper you have since it's never been tested but it should fit just fine based on what you've done to it.
