Carrying serious weight takes a spring that’s up to the job. This Dexter 7-leaf slipper spring is built for a 15,000-lb axle, with a spring capacity of 7,500 lbs. The 3"-wide steel leaves flex under load to absorb shock without sagging or twisting, keeping your trailer steady and level even when fully loaded.
Every bump and dip sends stress through a trailer’s frame. This spring’s seven leaves work together to flex and cushion each hit, reducing bounce and vibration. The result is a smoother ride and less wear on your frame and cargo as the suspension absorbs road shock instead of transferring it to the trailer.
The front eye gives a secure mount point while the built-in rubber bushing keeps movement quiet and controlled. With a 1" inner diameter and 2-1/16" eye size without the bushing, it’s ready for proper suspension bolts and hangers. The rubber insert also helps cut down on metal-to-metal contact, adding a layer of smoothness to your suspension movement.
Each spring measures 30-1/2" from the center of the eye to the end of the slipper. The flat-end design slides cleanly into the rear hanger or equalizer, keeping the axle aligned and tracking straight. For the best results, springs should be replaced in pairs—this helps maintain even height and correct axle geometry so the trailer tows true mile after mile.
Whether you’re replacing a worn-out setup or building fresh, this slipper spring fits into standard welded hangers or equalizers. Its tough 3/8"-thick steel leaves and heavy-duty design make it a dependable choice for trailers that need strength, stability, and long-term performance.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Dexter 30 and 1/2 inch long, seven leaf slipper spring with the flat end, for a 15,000 pound trailer axle. Now this slipper leaf spring will act as part of your trailer suspension system. It does provide the attachment point for your trailer's axle. This spring does use multiple leaves to allow flexibility to absorb any road shock. This one uses seven leaves.
Now this does allow for a nice smooth ride and reduces wear and tear on your trailer. And it ensures a level ride on bumpy and uneven surfaces. Now to install this on your trailer, it does require pre-mounted hangers or an aftermarket hanger kit for installation. Those items we do sell separately on our website. On this end, the eye of the spring is what will attach to a hanger that's mounted on your trailer frame.
And this then, which is the slipper end, this'll slide into your hanger or equalizer. This is a sturdy steel construction. On the spring end or spring eye end you can see has a rubber bushing installed with a steel sleeve. The eye diameter on that steel sleeve is one inch. A few specs on this.
This is for quantity of one leaf spring. The spring capacity on this one spring is 7,500 pounds. So this is designed to fit on an axle that has a capacity of 15,000 pounds. I want to give you a few measurements on this. We're gonna do the length of the spring and the length is measured from the center of the spring eye to the end of the spring.
So if we put a tape measure on that from the center to the very end is your 30 and 1/2 inches. The axle location that's from the center of the spring eye to the middle of the spring, your axle will mount right in the middle here. So the measure for the axle location, that's gonna be right at 13 and 1/2 inches and the width on this spring is three inches. But that should do it for the review on the Dexter 30 and 1/2 inch long, seven leaf slipper spring with the flat end for 15,000 pound trailer axles..
