Question:

I recently purchased a similar part from a dodge dealership. They said it would fit, but did not. The issue was that the opening for the hitch to cup over the bar under the bumber, wasnt big enough. Here is my vin # 3D7HA18N92G121409. The dodge ram 1500 was built in 10-01 and im told that it is the old style. I am about to move cross country in 2 weeks and need a hitch. thanks for your help

The Curt Trailer Hitch for the 2002 Ram, item # 13326, is designed to fit all Dodge Ram 1500 pickups with a build date before 11/02. If the beam on the hitch has mounting holes that are 12-1/2 inches apart you should be able to mount the hitch on your vehicle with no problems.

If your Ram is a 2001 or a 2002 with build date after 11/01 you will need a cross frame style hitch like the Curt Class IV Hitch, item # 14361. I have included instructions for each of these hitches for you to review.

The # 13326 hitch installs utilizing existing holes in the bumper beam and bumper, I have attached a photo with dimensions added you you to see.
