Question:
Is there trailer brake wiring available for a 2017 Highlander?

Expert Reply:
If your 2017 Toyota Highlander already has a 4-Way wiring harness installed near the rear bumper then the kit you are looking for is the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7.
This wiring harness will convert your 4-Way to a 4-Way and 7-Way so that you can tow a trailer that uses either of those harnesses. The installation is actually pretty easy. Just plug the # ETBC7 into your existing 4-Way, install the mounting bracket to your trailer hitch (you can use a No-Drill mounting bracket # C57202 or # 18140 if you don't want to drill into your hitch), and then run the included wiring to your battery and your brake controller.
If you already have a brake controller, like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195, then you will need to do some splicing to use it on your Highlander as there are no plug-n-play options available.
If you do not already have a 4-Way installed on your Highlander then you can either use the Curt T-Connector # 56042 if you have the factory tow package, or the Tekonsha T-One # 118449 if your Highlander does not have the factory tow package.
I have included links to some installation videos and some helpful articles for you to review as well.
