When crosswinds or passing semis try to push your trailer around, the Blue Ox TrackPro holds it steady. Its built-in sway control uses steel-on-steel friction between the tapered spring bars and L-brackets to fight sway before it grows. Heavy tongue weight can make the back of your vehicle sag and the front lift. With the TrackPro, that weight gets spread evenly across all axles. Designed for trailers with a tongue weight of 200 lbs – 600 lbs and up to 6,000 lbs gross towing weight, it restores balance and gives you smoother steering and braking. You’ll feel the whole rig settle into a level, confident stance instead of bouncing or swaying down the road.
Dialing in a weight distribution hitch can be tricky, but the TrackPro makes it simple. The head assembly comes with a pre-set pitch angle, so there’s no need to mess with washers or hard-to-reach thumbscrews. Just mount the head on the included adjustable 11-hole shank and slide it to the right height. This quick setup gets you towing faster and with fewer tools.
The TrackPro is made from powder-coated steel that resists corrosion and wears tough over time. It fits 2" × 2" hitch receivers rated for use with weight distribution systems and works with trailer frames up to 6" tall. The included 2-5/16" hitch ball, adjustable shank with 3" drop and 17" rise, and clamp-on brackets mean everything you need is in the box. Plus, it allows full-range backing without disconnecting, so you can maneuver in tight campgrounds or driveways without extra steps.

Hello, neighbor, Steven here again with etrailer.com. Let's take a look today at our Blue Ox TrackPro weight distribution system with sway control. 11-hole shank, 6,000 pounds gross trailer weight rating or 600 pounds tongue weight rating. Now, if you are new to camping, trailering, whatnot, basically, your weight distribution system here is gonna ensure a level and stable ride. So it's gonna prevent sagging and that kinda stuff. It's gonna distribute the weight evenly over the axles of your tow vehicle and the camper, trailer, or whatnot.
It's gonna have a built-in sway control, like I mentioned, and that's gonna help eliminate those sudden bursts from like semis passing you, the wind that would maybe push you a little bit, those kinda things, maybe some potholes and stuff. That's gonna help keep you straight and keep you from swiveling or fishtailing back and forth. The head itself has a nice pitched design, and that's gonna help you, you know, have the right angle from the start when you're installing this. Some other brands out there, you gotta stack washers behind the head, you gotta keep getting your angle, you know, adjusted. With Blue Ox, you don't have to worry about that.
It's set up. It's already ready to go, and that makes it really easy to use and a lot faster to get installed. Now coming up here to the shank, it is made for a two-inch by two-inch hitch receiver tube. You wanna make sure that your hitch is rated for use with a weight distribution system. So check your manufacturer of the hitch.
Make sure that it's rated for that. Possibly, your manufacturer's sticker on your hitch might give you that information, but it's not always there. It does come with the hitch pin and clip. It has a max drop of three inches. And if you flip the shank over and remount the head to that in that position, you can have a rise of up to 17 inches.
This particular ball's a 2 5/16-inch ball. Now I wanna grab one of these L-brackets here and mounting brackets and show you this up close while I got the frame here. So your frame's gonna mount in here up to six inches tall trailer frames. It's got the built-in L-bracket, and it's got the spring retaining clip here. So your spring wire would go in there. This will keep it from popping out. Now, while I'm up here, I also wanna point out it does have a built-in grease zerk on the head of the trunnion bars themselves. That's gonna help the pivoting and everything that you need, keep it free, and just give you a nice smoother ride, smooth transition as it's doing the weight distributing. It is a no-drill, clamp-on style, like I mentioned a few minutes ago. You don't have to worry about drilling into your trailer frame. It's gonna accommodate with things, such as like your gas tank, battery boxes, toolboxes, generators. This should pretty much mount in a way that you don't have to worry about those getting in the way. From the top of the ball back to where this bracket's gonna mount on your frame, this unit is set up to be between 20 to 25 inches back from the center of this ball. Please keep it in that safe range. Don't try to smudge it and go a little shallower or a little deeper on the frame. Keep it within that 20 to 25 inches. That's for your safety, and that's for what this system is designed for to use safely. It is gonna come with a spring bar tool, the manufacturer instructions, and a couple of D-rings or chain links. That way, you can put your safety chains on. Now, the spring bar tool, as you can see, has the groove and the hook in here. You'd simply put it underneath your bar, and you'd use it as a pivot point and pivot it up onto your L-brackets to put it in place. (tool thumping) Now, what I found to do when doing that is, you got your trailer or camper mounted on your ball. Keep some of that tension on your jack. That way, it's less spring tension that you're fighting. 'Cause remember, these are rated particularly up to 600 pounds on this unit. So you don't wanna be pushing a full 600 pounds if you don't have to. So use that jack to help you out a little bit. That's a nice little trick of the trade there. Oh my goodness! Typically I would recommend touching up the hitch with a rust resistant paint as over time the powder coating will become marred. However since it has not been that long I will have the manufacturer reach out to you.

With a weight distribution system, you want the loaded tongue weight of your trailer to fall within the middle of the tongue weight range that the weight distribution bars are rated for. The bars that are on this weight distribution system BLU67FR are rated for tongue weights between 600 and 800 lbs. Since you say your trailer weight is 7200 lbs, it is possible that you may be overloading the bars. I would suggest that you measure the exact tongue weight with the trailer loaded. You can measure your exact tongue weight with part # e99044. If your tongue weight is between 800 to 1,000 lbs, I recommend to switch out the bars with part # BLU52FR, which have a higher capacity. If your loaded tongue weight happens to be over 1,000 lbs, then you should use part # BLU32FR.

Excessive sway may indicate that the trailer is improperly loaded. As a guideline, the tongue weight should be 10-15 percent of gross trailer weight. If it is not, redistribute the weight accordingly. If you encounter continuous sway or swaying that does not dissipate quickly, adjust the load. I however, do not know your trailer or weights so you may need a biggerstronger system. If you let me know what you are working with I can get you a better system.

Hey Michael! Have you tried blue Loctite on the threads of the l-bracket bolts? I have not heard of those bolts loosening over time so checked out the instructions and they reference using the blue Loctite.

You mentioned that your trailer unloaded weight is 350 pounds and I wondered what your loaded tongue weight would be? The reason that I ask if that this systems spring bars have a tongue weight range of 600 to 800 pounds. If the tongue weight of the trailer is under the tongue weight of the bars then it can create a noisier and bumpy ride. I know that you are happy with the system however I wanted to let you know in case this changes. You can always swap out the bars and go with part # BLU82FR which are rated for 200 to 600 pounds.

Product works great, I had an issue with one of the brackets. A quick email to blue ox and I had replacement parts on my porch a week later at no cost to me. I think the blue ox model that uses the chains, and the bracket that requires drilling to the frame may be better. Not that there’s anything wrong with this model, I think just in hind sight I would have preferred that more permanent installation over the clamp on style. I actually changed out my travel trailer for a larger one, and easily moved the blue ox over. Still works great, I love showing this thing off to friends neighbors when I get the chance. Everyone is always amazed at how it levels out the truck so perfectly.

the Blue ox hithch has worked well. We had a problem with the torsion bar coming out of the keeper brackets in certain situations. I called E-trailer and they gave me Blue oxs number blue ox told me that there were updated keepers for the bar and they sent the ups to my next destination free of charge. I installed them I now have 12,000 miles on them without a problem

Using a trailer jack to lift the truck and trailer up a bit to take tension weight off the bars is often an easier way to put them on.

Works just as it should as my 20trailer is now stable without sway and my tow vehicle rides level. I have also noticed rotating hardware on the trailer frame, but only to a point where the flat bottom of the torsion bar lies flat against the L bracket whereas it doesnt rotate any further. Ive kept it at this slight angle and it works great. Heavy duty and built tough.
