Question:
Im looking for a hitch cargo carrier that will be used with a 2016 Lexus GX460. Ive borrowed a carrier in the past that did not work well as the exhaust exits the car to the rear causing items in the cargo bag and the bag to melt. Is there a hitch cargo carrier you would recommend for my vehicle? Ive read several reviews with only one mention of this, not that it was happening but that they did not have a problem but it was not the same kind of vehichle. Thanks!

When a trailer hitch is installed on a 2016 Lexus GX 460 like the Curt # C13043 the exhaust tip is right at the same height as the hitch opening. So a cargo carrier that has a bit of a rise built into the shank will help get it out of the direct path of the exhaust.
The Cargo Carrier, part # C18152, has a rise of 2-1/2 inches which is the highest we offer. It also has 11-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest edge of the carrier which helps too as the more distance is there the less heat will make it to the tray.
