Question:

I recently asked if the Bakflip MX4 would open fully with the TracRac SR on my 2015 short bed super duty. I think what I should have asked was if the uprights would interfere with the Bakflip folding back against the cab. If I knew the panel dimensions I could probably figure it out. I have the front uprights on the outside track for max width. Jameson said I should consider using the Rollbak instead. Two reasons I would prefer to use the Bakflip are, I would also like to install a Backbox. Second , In Maine we have long and typically icy winters. I am concerned about the ice affecting its operation.

I contacted the manufacturer of the BAKFlip MX4 Tonneau Cover, # BAK48310, and they told me all though using this cover may work with the TracRac SR, # TH43003XT-510, they cannot confirm that when folding the cover all the way to the cab will or will not interfere with the ladder rack arms.

They suggested using the BAK Revolver X2, # BAK39310. The Revolver will allow you access to your truck bed without interfering with the TracRac ladder rack rails. You can also use the BAKBox 2 Collapsible Truck Toolbox, # BAK92303, with the Revolver cover.

As for operating in icy weather, the covers rust proof aluminum construction and the vinyl cover will keep snow and ice out of you truck beds cargo area.
