The Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack lets you move the uprights anywhere along the bed using its built-in T-track base rails. The design slides smoothly to carry long boards, ladders, or short cargo without being locked into one position. Quick-release knobs loosen and tighten by hand, so you can reposition or remove the rack whenever you need full bed access. With a 1,250-lb carrying capacity, it’s ready for heavy loads whether you’re hauling tools for work or kayaks for a weekend trip.
This rack is built from 6000-series aluminum, giving it a strong and durable frame that won’t rust. The dual-stage powder coat finish—an e-coat followed by a clear coat—adds extra protection against scratches and corrosion. The lightweight construction also means more of your truck’s capacity goes to the load instead of the rack.
Each crossbar has an aerodynamic, elliptical shape that cuts through the wind to reduce drag and noise. Airfoil trip strips at the front of the bars keep air from whistling through the slots, so you get a quieter ride even with the rack mounted. The streamlined design helps improve overall efficiency and keeps the truck looking clean and finished.
Four heavy-duty aluminum load stops slide inside the crossbar channels to hold ladders, lumber, or other long gear firmly in place. Each has built-in loops for tie-down straps. Four side cleats attach to the uprights to anchor extra straps or secure items in the bed. The combination gives you multiple tie-down points and quick adjustability for different gear sizes.
The TracRac SR installs through the stake pockets, so no drilling is required. The wide bases on the uprights add stability without extra bracing, keeping the rack solid even under heavy use. When not needed, the rack sections can slide together at the front for unobstructed bed access and better aerodynamics.

After a year of service, it has held up well. Have hauled lumber, ladders, and trim (16' pieces). It is a game changer.
One of the greates pperks is being able to remove the racks when my family and I go on vacation.
I also have the cantilever extension. You will need it to carry 16' material. Just be sure to secure the caps on the extension bar better. They are not metal like the other Trackrac bar caps. They are plastic with 1 screw holding it in place. One cap has dissapeared on me while driving. I cannot find a replacement as the extension bar cap is a different size than the standard TracRac bar caps.
Great rack, use it to haul a couple kay aks.
Beautiful product. Well made. Went together easily. Sturdy and infinitely adjustable. I like that it installs with no drilling. Looks beautiful on my new Platinum F-150. I have had this ladder rack for a while now and have only good things to say about it. Having a short bed truck, this rack offers a great way to haul longer items that would not normally fit well in my bed. The rack works great for hauling long pieces of lumber. When you need your bed space back, it is really easy to slide the rear rack forward. Just loosen the locking knobs on either side of the rack and slide it forward.
Just installed this last night sobs true rating is hard to do. With that said it is definitely good quality very tight with no wobble! Hope it works like I want with removal for trips and going through the car wash. Keeps the truck looking pretty sharp compared to the traditional ladder racks!!
I searched many ladder racks I was unsatisfied till I found this one. It’s beautiful it’s light and it’s versatile. I have a X-short bed Toyota Tundra platinum with a top. With this ladder rack I was able to keep my topper.
I did install the Thule TracRac SR. I did it on my own and it went well.
I'm really pleased with it.

Great product! Packaging could be better for the larger pieces (rub marks). My 2018 Ram 1500 quad cab came with some small challenges that I had to solve myself. No videos or written words available. Basically if your bed rails are covered with a bed liner you need to remove the plastic sleeve in the rear stake pockets. Otherwise you won’t get an equal spacing from one rail to the other. You will also need to use the provided rubber tape with the wedges in order to make the rails level. Otherwise it went together great.
This is a great product and works really well with the Bak RevolverX2 Tonneau cover.
The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was because the base track has about a 3/4" overhang at the rear of the bed rails. Unfortunately the bed rails of the 2016 Tundra Double Cab are not square. As you can see from my photos, the front fits flush while the rear hangs over. Besides that, they are very sturdy and installation was simple.
Knowing what I know now, I would still buy this product again.
I am very happy with the quick processing and shipping of my TracRac from etrailer. The TracRac is well made and the instructions were good. It fit my 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD well. I was able to use it with my bakflip F1 tonneau cover but the seals rub against the rack rails. The only reason I did not rate it at 5 stars was that one of the rack arms had the center pipe in backwards. I had to spend 20 minutes removing it and turning it around to install correctly. It looks great on the truck and is very sturdy. The racks slide easily on the rails so I can adjust them to fit whatever I am carrying. It also allows me to slide the rear rack all the way back so I can open the bacflip tonneau cover without it hitting the rack arms.
Very heavy duty ladder rack that does not "whistle" while you drive down the road. Easy install overall, and it is very easy to install and remove the racks as needed after the original install. At the time of purchase this was not available for my vehicle with a short 5.5' bed, but with very minor fabrication the rails for longer beds fit perfectly. I have recommended this rack to several people since purchased a year ago.
In short: the sliding ladder rack is excellent.
Assembly: Plan on spending a good while assembling it, and make sure you have a decent torque wrench and ALSO a strong set of allen head sockets, so you don't round out cap screws. Be triple sure you have the top and bottom of the crossbars correct before attempting assembly.
Usability: other reviews have spoken to all of this, but for me: the carrying capacity mixed with ease of adjustment and removal. It also happens to look incredibly sexy, when installed on my 2016 Nissan Titan XD (and with the TracRac cantilever extension installed).
Well made product and pretty clear and straight forward install. This was installed on top of a Retrax Pro Bed Cover with stake bed cutouts and no Ram box for a 2018 Dodge Ram 2500.
Only negative comment was the kit was short 2 end bed rail caps.
Just to be clear, this is somewhat uncharted territory as there isn't any info I could find on the compatibility of the Trac Rac with the Retrax Pro bed cover. Worked out very well and no modifications were necessary otjer than cutting out the factory bed pocket cutouts in the RAM truck itself.

etrailer.com is an outstanding company. I purchased a Thule system in January. Due to logistics (my fault) I tried to install the system in April. Three of the attachment arms were incorrect. I contacted Ashley of etrailer, the sales representative who sold me the system, who patiently listened and after receiving the needed photos and explanation, etrailer sent me a replacement system. The new system was installed and the truck is ready to go. Ashley's professionalism, communication skills, product knowledge were excellent. Ashley and etrailers' commitment to solving my issue expeditiously puts etrailer in a class by itself.
Very happy with the rack on my 2018 Silverado. I also have the Back flip hard top bed cover. I am able to open all but the very last position. I might still be able to adjust the rails and to get there but it hasn't been an issue. Used it to haul lumber and I made a bicycle rack that works with the racks and the bed cover down. Works great. Was not hard to install.
I bought my first Thule TracRac in 2018 and loved it for its crisp style, robust integrity and ease of removal so in 2025 when I bought my next F-150 Lariat I bought the same Trac Rac again. It's a wonderful design. Pro-tip, get the BAK industries tonneau cover too, they fit together perfectly. Amazing!
Past 20 years I've used Rack-It truck racks. They're solid steel, eventually rust and took two grown men (and an extra set of nuts) to remove them from the truck. Great racks. Just way more than what I need the older I get.
However I wanted something that could easily be removed (by myself), if needed, and was aluminum. I bought these, as well as the extension cantilever, and it serves my needs as a general contractor. It supports my 24' walk plank just fine. The only thing I have to be creative to transport is full length rebar. If I transported rebar all the time, this rack would not be my first choice.
At the time of my purchase, there was not a specific rack for my GMC AT4. So I simply measured the bed of the truck, bought one with a similar measurement, and modified the drilling holes to work.
Lastly, I didn't want a silver color rack on my black truck. While you could get the racks in black. You could not purchase a black cantilever. So I simply had all the pieces powder coated black.
Honestly, I get a lot of compliments on it. Because no one else has one like it.
I'm very happy with it. It's perfect for the occasional ladder, walk plank, or 16' piece of lumber. I've had it mounted for over a year now, with zero problems! I remove it weekly to go through the car wash, and throw it back on in 5 min or less when i get home.
We've been really happy with the Thule Sliding TracRac, and have made some unusual modifications. We wanted to mount it outside/around a camper shell, so we needed to mount the rails outboard of the truck bed (aluminum "shelves") and figure out how to make the crossbars longer (bought a third crossbar and connected extension sections by making three-holed t-slots nuts and using round aluminum tubes). None of this sanctioned by etrailer or Thule, of course. See photos, which also show an adaptor I made to mount a Thule square bar above the TracRac crossbar to use existing Thule accessories.
Couldn't be happier with the Rack, it went together and operates flawlessly. Dealing with e trailer was a snap, I was informed all the way through the buying process of shipping and arrival dates. Will absolutely buy shop again with e trailer.
I move a lot of material for work. This rack seems very well constructed, very easy to put together and install. Being able to adjust the racks and slide them completely out of the way was reasoning to purchase this exact unit. I also tow a gooseneck trailer and need full access to the bed of my truck. Great product that functions and looks nice on a black truck with chrome trim package.
Ordered this rack for my 2023 Ford F350 super duty long bed, even when being told it was on a 2-3 month backorder the sales team kept me updated throughout the whole process. Delighted. Very strong, good looking. The only drawback is that the screws which keep the racks on the tracks can be easily removed and the racks stolen. They should provide screws with security heads. I installed my own... but they began to rust immediately.
