Can a Semi-Truck Have Necessary Connections for Both RV Trailer and Commercial Trailer

In your earlier response to this question, you state that you have the parts necessary to adapt the wiring and braking connections. Is it possible to have to have the air hose connections and electrical connections for a semi-trailer and the necessary connections for an RV trailer on the same truck? My wife and I would like to buy and outfit a truck tractor that we could use for commercial and personal towing. Thank you very much,

Yes, it is possible to have both the air hose and electrical connections needed for a semi-trailer as well as the necessary connections for an RV trailer on the same truck. You will just need to install a few parts to be able to connect to and power the lights and brakes on an RV trailer.
First, for a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This is a great proportional brake controller with a digital display and continuous diagnostic checks.
You will then use the Vehicle Wiring Harness with Install Kit # C59496 to combine the tail light circuits on your truck as well as the Universal 4-Way to 7-Way Installation Kit # ETBC7, which will provide a 7-way RV style connector and include everything else needed to install the brake controller.
Once this is all installed, you will still be able to use the original connector and wiring on your truck that is required for semi or commercial trailers. The new wiring and connector for the RV trailer will not replace what you already have installed for use with commercial trailers. You will be able to use both of them, depending on what you are towing.
