Question:
Im trying to connect a 4 car gooseneck trailer to a semi tractor. The trailer has a 7 blade connector and the truck has a 7 round, I bought an adapter for it, but for some reason the brakes on the trailer are applying as soon as you make the connection, without pressing brake pedal on tractor. Lights working correctly, but brakes stay applied. What Im doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

The 7-Way on a semi is not the same as a 7-Way round pin on other vehicles so that is why you are having a problem. If you do not need to tow a semi trailer then you can rewire the vehicle side 7-Way so that the proper circuits match up between it and the adapter you are using. I have linked our help article on wiring that shows how a 7-Way is wired.
The other option is to replace the 7-Way you have or add a second, RV style 7-Way by splicing into the wiring for the existing 7-Way as needed using # HM47210 and mounting bracket # 18138.
